Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Discuss customer eye-wear needs and recommend types of lenses and/or lens enhancements
  • Choose the appropriate frame to satisfy the customer's comfort, appearance and prescription requirements
  • Ensure that lenses conform to the prescription of the Optometrist before dispensing
  • Provide frame adjustments and repairs
  • Enter order data into practice management software
  • Maintain frame boards and inventory with owners input
  • Act as a liaison with labs and vendors


  • Optical experience necessary
  • Solid written, verbal and interpersonal skills are critical
  • Computer literate and technology savvy
  • Must have a passion for providing excellent customer service
  • Great communication skills in person and on the phone
  • Self-motivated and organizational skills a must
  • Sales and/or retail experience desired
  • Ability to function in a fast paced environment
  • Comfortable with simple mathematical calculations
  • Must be able to maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Sense of style & willingness to guide frame selection
  • Time management skills necessary
  • Team player willing to work independently
  • Must have excellent people and communication skills with a passion and deep understanding for helping others
  • Appreciate of style and high end products with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to put other at ease
  • Able to demonstrate the benefits of your product advice
  • Must always act professional and be able to diffuse difficult customers
  • Self-motivated and independent


  • College degree preferred
  • Proven ability to set and achieve sales goals
  • Customer service experience a must
